Cryptozoic Entertainment will release The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Deck-building Game this winter.  Announced early this year (see "Six 'Hobbit' and 'LOTR' Games"), the game is part of a major Cryptozoic licensing program for Tolkien movie properties (the first Hobbit board game was announced yesterday, see "'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Board Game'").

In the game, players will assume the role of major characters such as Frodo, Gandalf, or Aragorn and begin with only basic combat maneuvers.  Throughout the game, players will add new, more powerful cards to their decks to help them battle Sauron’s forces on the way to Mount Doom.
