NYCC News: DC Comics announced today that it was planning to publish a quartet of oversize annuals in January.  The 48-page comics will have a cover price of $4.99. The titles getting "annualized" in January include Superboy, Batman and Robin, Green Lantern Corps, and Green Lantern: New Guardians.

The Superboy Annual #1, which goes on sale on January 23rd, is written by Tom DeFalco with interior art by Yvel Guichet and a cover by Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira.  In this 48 page saga Rose Wilson of The Ravagers barges into Superboy’s life again setting off a major confrontation between Superboy and her father.

The Batman and Robin Annual #1 goes on sale on January 30th.  Batman and Robin travel the globe in search of family secrets in this saga written by Peter J. Tomasi with art by Ardian Syaf and Vicente Cifuentes.

Tomasi is also writing the Green Lantern Corps Annual #1, which features art and a cover by Crisscross and is also due on January 30th.  The annual represents the culmination of the "Rise of the Third Army" storyline and features a go-for-broke ending that sets up the next Green Lantern event.

Keith Giffen is writing the Green Lantern: New Guardians Annual #1, which will be the first of the quartet to be released on January 9th.  Scott Kolins provides both interior art (with Andrei Bressan) and the cover for this saga of an ill-fated mission to recruit allies against the unstoppable Third Army.
