Marvel Comics has provided a first look at the new Marvel NOW! title Thor: God of Thunder #1 that debuts on November 14th.  Written by Jason Aaron (Wolverine) with art by Essad Ribic (X-Men: Second Coming, The Ultimates) the new Marvel NOW! Thor title takes the character (and the Marvel universe) in a new direction.  In this new saga the mighty Thor follows a trail of blood that threatens to consume his past, present, and future selves as he goes up against the gruesome mystery of  his new nemesis, the God Butcher, who appears to be bent on eliminating the gods of the Marvel universe.

 

Each issue of Thor: God of Thunder will include a code for a free digital copy of the book plus special augmented reality content available through the Marvel AR app--content that includes cover recaps, and behind-the-scenes features that add to reading enjoyment.

 

In addition to the cover, Marvel has also provided some previews of Thor: God of Thunder #1 including this startling scene in which Thor comes upon fresh evidence of the God Butcher’s handiwork.
