Manga titles continue to dominate bookstore bestseller lists, with 40 of the top 50 graphic novel bestsellers in bookstores drawn from that category in the most recent week's BookScan list.  Manga publishing powerhouse Tokyopop holds over half of the top fifty slots, the top four positions (Chobits, Marmalade Boy, Wish, and Real Bout High School), and six of the top ten (plus Rave and Love Hina).  Chobits and Love Hina continue their run; the first two volumes of each remain in the top fifteen titles long after release.   Tokyopop's dominance has receded somewhat since we first reported on this topic; in November Tokyopop held all ten of the top ten slots, 18 of the top 20, and 35 of the top 50 (see 'Manga Dominate Graphic Novel Sales in Bookstores').

Viz has 12 of the top 50 best-selling titles, including Ceres Celestial Legend at #6 and Digi Charat at #15.  Dark Horse (Oh My Goddess) and Comics One (Onegai Teacher) each have one title in the top 50.

Of U.S. properties, Daredevil is the big winner, with four of the top fifteen titles and six of the top 50 featuring that character (Daredevil The Movie is the #5 title).  Marvel over-all has three of the top ten and nine of the top 50.  DC has one title in the top 50 -- League of Extraordinary Gentlemen at #10.
