Tokyo Mint has announced that Naru Narusegawa in Pink will be the fourth statue in its Love Hina line. The cold-cast resin, hand-painted statue features Naru in a whimsical pose, in a pink top and teal mini-skirt. It's being solicited now, for release in August. Naru is the most popular Love Hina character, and was the featured character of the first, sold-out statue in the Tokyo Mint Love Hina series, the Naru Narusegawa Bikini Statue. The Naru Narusegawa in Pink Statue will be a limited North American edition of 600, like the Bikini Statue, and will also carry a SRP of $129. Each statue comes on a wooden base, and is packaged in an individual color box with Japanese labelling and a Tokyo Mint identifying sticker.
Love Hina is a hit manga series by Akamatsu Ken that has sold over 6 million copies in Japan; it spawned a popular anime series and a line of merchandise. It was launched in the States last year, with the manga published by Tokyopop, the anime released by Bandai, and posters by 1000 Editions.
