Here’s the first trailer for Red 2, the sequel to the 2010 film Red (which stands for "Retired, Extremely Dangerous") that was based on Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’s comic about a group of retired CIA operatives that gets the “band” together for one last big operation when they find that one of their number is being targeted.  Directed by Robert Schwentke and made for $48 million, Red earned a comfortable $200 million worldwide.

Red 2, which is being helmed by Dean Parisot, who made Galaxy Quest, one of the best science fiction parodies of all time, is due in theaters on August 2nd. Jon and Erich Hoeber, who penned the original adaptation, have written a new story featuring the characters created by Ellis and Hamner who survived the first film along with new ones played by Catharine Zeta-Jones and Byung-Hun Lee (see "Catherine Zeta-Jones Joins the Cast of 'Red 2'").
