Lucasfilm no longer has plans to release the remaining five Star Wars films theatrically in 3D, according to Deadline, so it can focus on the new trilogy it’s planning.  Lucasfilm originally announced that it would release all six films theatrically in 3D in 2010 (see "'Star Wars' in 3D").  Phantom Menace was released early last year to a ho-hum box office response (see "'The Vow' Brings Romance Back to the Multiplex").
J.J. Abrams has been announced as the director of the first film in the new trilogy, which is up for release in 2015 (see "J.J. Abrams to Helm New 'Star Wars' Movie").
