Ares Games has entered a partnership with long-silent British publisher Wotan Games to produce Camelot the Build, the first Wotan game in more than two decades.

 

Camelot the Build will be a fast-playing tile placement game for two to six players who attempt to construct the incomplete Camelot.  Points are scored by playing tiles in certain combinations, and players must attempt to limit the scoring opportunities of their opponents.

 

Camelot the Build was designed by Wotan veteran Julian Musgrave, who also serves as the company’s Director of Business Development.  The new title is scheduled to release at Gen Con in August.

 

Wotan Games was known in the 1980’s for producing a series of games based on the legends of King Arthur.  Its last design, Merlin was released in 1993.

 

Ares Games was established in 2011 to take over production of the War of the Ring board game and the Wings of Glory series of airplane combat games from the now-out-of-business Nexus Games. See "Ares Games Gets Rights to 'War of the Ring'" and "Ares Games Acquires 'Wings of War.'"
