Keri Russell has been cast as the female lead in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, according to Variety.  She joins Gary Oldman (see "Gary Oldman in 'Apes' Sequel"), Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Andy Serkis in the cast. 

Russell previously worked with director Matt Reeves on Felicity, her break-out role; Reeves and J.J. Abrams were co-creators on the series. 

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will open May 23, 2014.
