Hermes Press has announced the July 2013 publication of the first volume in a three volume set that will eventually reprint all of the Pogo Comics produced by Walt Kelly and published by Dell in the1940s and 1950s.  Volume 1 of Walt Kelly’s Pogo: The Complete Dell Comics, which is due on July 2nd, is a 272-page hardcover with a cover price of $50.  It will reprint all of the Animal Comics Pogo stories together with complete reprints of Pogo’s appearances in Dell’s Four Color comic book series.

 

Volumes 2 and 3 in the series will include complete reprints of all of Dell’s Pogo Possum comics.  All three volumes will include essays, documentary material, and examples of the original artwork used for the comics.
