GAMA Trade Show News: At GAMA Playroom Entertainment showed off a quartet of new party games that should all be released around the time of Gen Con.  Slangology (MSRP $20.00) is fascinating word game in which players are given either a slang word or the definition of a slang word.  After the player responds by providing either a definition of the slang term or matches a slang word or phrase to the definition given, the other players get to vote on each response.  Game play can be tricky since the way to score the most points is to get the other players to vote for your answer.  Created for 2-8 players (ages 8 and up), Slangology takes 30 minutes to play.

Say What You Meme (MSRP $25.00) is game that is based on those ubiquitous Internet memes (funny pictures coupled with a saying).  Players are given a picture and then have to come up with a funny saying.  Voting in this game is sort of the reverse of the normal process since players vote on the response they like the least until they arrive at the saying they like the best.  Say What You Meme is designed for players 13 and up and takes about a half an hour to play.

Playroom is also releasing two party games designed by Maureen Hiron, one of which is Quick Slap, a remake of the card game Slap and Grab, which will come in two editions, a Regular Version ($10) and a Deluxe Version ($20) which comes with more cards as well as a bell that players can slap to indicate that they have performed their designated tasks.

Also from Maureen Hiron is Words of Art (MSRP $20) in which players have to come up with a word that relates to either a picture of a work of art or to a description card.  Like Scrabble the letter cards that players hold have point values, which the player can tote up once he or she has successfully formed the word.
