Githens revealed that Asmodee is working on an expanded 12-player version of the game Dixit. "We are working on re-introducing a version of Dixit that will go back to 12 players," he said. "We’ve gotten a lot of feedback on that. It’s probably going to be at least a year from now, but we’re designing it. We want it to integrate into the line properly, so it will be a while before that happens."
Asmodee had previously planned to discontinue the version of Dixit that was designed for 12, as part of their new expansion plan for the popular title (see "'Dixit' Expansions Planned").
Githens also described two new Timeline products planned for later this year. "We’re working on a U.S. film and music edition," he said. "That should be out later this year after the summer. We’re also working on a U.S. events (history, significant events) edition as well. We’re working on it, hopefully it gets out before the end of this year."
Asmodee has published Timeline since 2011. A description of the game can be found here: "'Timeline' from Asmodee".
He then explained the company’s new card sorting series, called Cardline. "It uses the same mechanic for arranging cards in order [as Timeline]," he said. "The first one is Animals. It has three qualities per card: average size, average lifespan, average weight. And you choose which of those three to use. So, let’s say a sea turtle has a larger average lifespan than a tiger. However, if we were using the average weight, a tiger may have a larger average weight than that of a sea turtle. So, the cards will go in different order depending on the criteria that you’re using."
The Cardline series is expected to have the same format and price point as the earlier Timeline series.
