Stronghold Games has announced plans to release a new real-time cooperative game from designer Anthony Rubbo. Space Sheep is scheduled to premiere at the Spiel fair in Essen, Germany this October.
Space Sheep places one to eight players in the role of anthropomorphic heroes from the "Strategic Sheep Command," combatting the mysterious and evil "Wolf." To succeed, they must pilot their "Shepherd" spaceships to recover the "SpaceSheep."
The action in the game is controlled by a sandtimer. Players must complete their turns before the timer runs out, or the Wolf will attack. If the players cannot defend against the attack (by discarding cards), the Wolf wins and the players lose.
The game features customizable play that allows players to set the game’s level of complexity and difficulty. The game can be played cooperatively, or "traitors" can be added among the players making the game competitive.
Space Sheep will be Rubbo’s fourth published design, following two games with R&R Games (Hey Waiter! and Hey Froggy!) and an up-coming title from Rio Grande Games.
