Fantasy Flight Games will release a new accessory for its X-Wing Miniatures Game in July.  The Starfield Game Tile Kit will create a Star Wars-themed playing surface for the game.

The set includes a dozen double-sided tiles, combining card stock and 2.5mm fiberboard for sturdiness with a smooth, matte finish.  Each tile is one square foot in size and features images from the Star Wars universe, such as the planet Alderaan, the classic asteroid field, and even the Death Star itself.  Players may choose to treat the objects depicted on the accessory tiles as obstacles during the game, though the tiles themselves have no standard effect on gameplay.

The Starfield Game Tile Kit will have a suggested retail price of $39.95.

Fantasy Flight’s X-Wing Miniatures were the second best-selling non-collectible miniatures in the hobby market last fall (see "Top 5 Non-Collectible Miniature Lines--Fall 2012").
