Rovio Entertainment has chosen Jon Vitti, whose credits include TV’s long-running The Simpsons, to write an animated feature based on the mega-popular smartphone game Angry Birds.  Vitti, who received an Emmy for his work on King of the Hill, worked for years as a writer/producer on The Simpsons and also contributed to The Simpsons Movie.  The Angry Birds movie project has come together quickly over the past few weeks (see "'Angry Birds' Film").
 
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rovio has added veteran animation producer Catherine Winder (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) to a production team that also includes former Marvel Exec David Maisel (Iron Man) and John Cohen (Despicable Me).
