Quixotic Games, the design studio behind Star Trek: Attack Wing, plans to release a new game under its own imprint this November.  Canterbury is a city-building board game set in medieval England, designed by Andrew Parks.

In the game, two to four players assume the role of Saxon nobles responsible for building the city of Canterbury for King Ethelbert at the end of the 6th Century.  Unlike most games of this type, Canterbury has no random elements, with the actions of the players alone determining the outcome of the game.

During the game, the players control the growth and development of the city.  As the city expands, all players have access to an increasing supply of resources.  This adds a cooperative element to the play of the game, as everyone shares equally in the city’s growth.

Canterbury joins the growing list of game titles funded through Kickstarter campaigns.  Quixotic received pledges totaling more than $58,000 before its campaign closed on June 1st.  The game will be produced in Germany as a bi-lingual English/German edition.
