Comic-Con News: The ABC TV network revealed today via twitter that Joss Whedon’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series will debut on Tuesday September 24th at 8pm (ET, PT).   ABC also announced that composer Bear Mcreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead) will provide the score for the new S.H.I.E.L.D. series, which is undoubtedly the TV show that holds the most interest for Comic-Con attendees.

ABC also released another in the series of Level 7 Access videos provides a behind-the-scenes look at the cast of the new Marvel Comics-based series.  This installment introduces Agents Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), the weapons/technology expert, and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), the science officer.  The two are close, almost "like brother and sister" according to Henstridge, and as De Caestecker puts in the video, "They are geeks, in a sense, and very good at what they do."

It certainly makes sense for ABC to push the new S.H.I.E.L.D series at Comic-Con, and it will have its own mega-panel on Friday, but ABC also believes that this series has mainstream appeal and has been advertising it at major sporting events like the NBA Finals (see "'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Promo”).
