Wizards of the Coast has announced a second season for their Kaijudo Master Challenges Organized Play events, which will culminate in a Winter Championship. Dates and locations have not been finalized, but Wizards plans to kick off this second season in September.
Wizards said they plan to add a few more KMC locations (the first season had 24 events), and will add new prize items as well as keeping some of the most popular ones from the first season. The tournament format will not change, the top winner for each Civilization will be awarded a prize pack, and the top two finalists of each tournament will receive invitations to the Winter Championship in November.
Wizards of the Coast’s Senior Kaijudo Brand Manager Kierin Chase spoke to ICv2 in June about the expanding Kaijudo organized play program (see "WotC's Kierin Chase on 'Kaijudo' OP"). Kaijudo currently ranked in at the seventh spot on ICv2’s Spring Hobby Channel Collectible Games Chart (see "Top Collectible Games--Spring 2013").
