Comic-Con News:  At the Top Cow Panel on Saturday Top Cow’s Matt Hawkins announced that the long gestating movie based on Top Cow’s The Darkness was back on track in a new iteration that features another Top Cow property Witchblade in a struggle between Sara Pezzini and the mafia hitman Jackie Estacado.
 
The Darkness was the first Top Cow property optioned for film way back in 2004 (see "'The Darkness' Falls in Hollywood").  In 2011 Mandeville Films acquired the movie rights to The Darkness and it appeared that a movie version was once again a good possibility (see "Comic-Con Movie Deals Trend to the Generic").  Now Mandeville has joined with New Regency and director Len Wiseman’s Sketch Films to develop The Darkness vs. Witchblade film project.
