Iello has announced new additions to its board game line-up for the second half of 2013.
The Phantom Society is a deduction game of ghost-hunting set in a Scottish manor hotel. Players can assume the role of ghost hunters, or conversely, the spooky spirits which seek to ruin the hotel. Ghost players must use psychology to remain concealed, while the hunters use observation and deduction to expose their hidden targets. Designed by Herve Marly (The Werewolves of Miller’s Hollow, Skull & Roses) and Vinvent Dutrait, with artwork by Naïade and Vincent Dutrait, the game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in about 20 minutes. The box contains a 2-level board game, 36 room tiles, 4 ghost tokens, 16 goal cards and a rulebook. MSRP is set at $39.99
The Three Little Pigs, designed by Laurent Pouchain with art by Xavier Colette, is a family dice game based on the classic children’s tale. Players are "little pigs" who wish to construct a dream home, but throwing the special dice may also bring the wolf out of the woods. The storybook-shaped box contains 26 house tiles, 6 goal cards, 5 special dice, a Wolf wheel, a rule booklet and an illustrated tale booklet with the story the game is based on. The game is for 2-5 players, age 7 and up, and plays in about 20 minutes. The game will release in August. MSRP is $29.99.
Zombie 15’, designed by Guillaume Lemery & Nicolas Schlewitz, is set in a world where everyone over the age of 18 has turned into a zombie. Players take the roles of 15-year-old teenagers, trying to escape the relentless horde of brain-dead, putrid adults (zombies) trying to eat them. There is a 15 minute time limit (set to a soundtrack to give the game its frantic tempo) to find shelter and food, hold a strategic position, meet with new survivors and find out the truth about the mysterious disease. In keeping with the "15" theme of the game, there are 15 scenarios to play, for 2 – 4 players 14 and up. The soundtrack is done by Eros Cartechimi. It is planned for fourth quarter release. No MSRP has been set.
Heroes of Normandie is a fast-paced, two-player WW2 strategy game inspired by Hollywood war movies about the fateful battle of 1944. The board game is tactically scaled, and the two players choose a side – German or American – and play to outwit their opponent. Designed by Yann & Clem, with art by Alexandre Bonvalot, the game is for 2 players 10 and up and plays in 60 minutes. It is planned for a fourth quarter release. No MSRP has been set.
Steam Park, designed by Aureliano Buonfino, Lorenzo Silva & Lorenzo Tucci Sorrentino, is a board game where players assume roles at the owners of a fantastic theme park, and the goal is to build coal-powered rides to attract as many visitors as possible. Players also must manage their park: hire employees, advertise to attract guests, and keep sanitation and dirt under control. There are two difficulty levels to play, for 2 – 4 players ages 10 and up. The game plays in about 60 minutes. It is planned for fourth quarter release. No MSRP has been set.
