Jeff DiBartolomeo, previously the senior vice president of consumer tech at HBO and a cofounder of HBO Go, has joined comiXology as its new Chief Technology Officer.  As comiXology’s CTO, DiBartolomeo will oversee digital innovation and data management and delivery.
 
DiBartolomeo and his team are preparing comiXology for the iOS 7 platform rollout planned for this fall. Another focus is comiXology’s reading and shopping experience, including personalization of the experience with a larger recommendations engine, and expanding international access. 
 
"Jeff is accustomed to working in fast-moving digital content environments and brings the technology skill set, energy and management expertise to deliver comiXology’s more than 40,000 digital comics to an ever-expanding audience worldwide," said comiXology co-founder and CEO David Steinberger.
 
DiBartolomeo’s history includes more than a decade at HBO, where he was one of the three founders of HBO GO, as well as leading a the technology team responsible for building and operating the service along with HBO’s other multiplatform services: MAX GO, HBO.com, and Cinemax.com.  Prior to that, DiBartolomeo was CTO of HBO’s urban Internet portal Volume.com.
