Jason Zara of Knightly Games in El Centro, California is supporting Free Comic Book Day in his store, but would like room to stamp his store name on the cover of the Marvel comics he's giving away:
Is anyone else outraged that Marvel again didn't bother to leave a stamping space on the cover of their Free Comic Book Day issue? Last year it was bad, but in the Previews catalog the comic was shown with a stamping box. Free Comic Book Day is a wonderful event, and it's great that the publishers and manufacturers make it possible. But it is the retailers that actually pay for the books. We are the only part of the chain that loses money on FCBD. Not that that stops me from ordering more than 2,000 books (we are a small store) and sharing them with libraries, schools and other programs. All I ask is that we have our chance to get our name out on all of the books, not just the non-Marvel titles. I, for one, will be buying the minimum number of Marvel titles next year if they don't fix this.
