Steve Jackson Games has announced that it will offer two Munchkin expansions, Munchkin Game Changers and Munchkin Unnatural Axe, exclusively through bookstore giant Barnes & Noble.  Steve Jackson Games explained the reason behind the move as a "thank you."  "(B)ig retailers like Barnes & Noble are part of our success with mainstream audiences," the announcement said. 
 
SJG announced a similar deal with Target back in June for the Munchkin Legends game, which is now available exclusively in Target stores nationwide as well as in its online store (see "Target 'Munchkin' Exclusive").
 
Munchkin Game Changers is an expansion that combines four of the game’s most popular boosters, Fairy Dust, Munchkinomicon, Monster Enhancers, and Reloaded!, into a single set.  There are 68 cards in all (including the cards from Munchkin Fairy Dust Dice and four cards formerly available only from SJG), as well as two level counters (one each in a Fairy Dust and Munchkinomicon theme), two 19mm (pink sparkly) six-sided dice, and a rulesheet.  MSRP is $19.95.
 
Munchkin Unnatural Axe includes 108 more cards, plus the option to play as a new race, Orcs.  It includes foe cards like the Hydrant and the Tentacle Demon; equipment cards like Spiked Codpiece, Druid Fluid, the Slug Thrower, the Shoulder Dragon, and the Unnatural Axe; and four blank cards for players to add their own joke items and abusive rules.  The set also includes six plastic female Munchkin pawns (matching the cover art).  MSRP is $19.95.
 
Both games are expansions for Munchkin, and are not stand-alone games.  Both are already available online and in stores.  (In a weird twist of fate, putting "Munchkin Game Changers" into the BN.Com search field also brings up the [unaffiliated] "Munchkin Diaper Change Organizer" by Munchkin brand baby products.)
 
These products are in addition to the already aggressive Munchkin 2013 release schedule (see "'Munchkin' Gets Promoted" and "Three New 'Munchkin' Releases").
