NBC has placed a script order plus penalty for a pilot based on the DC / Vertigo character Constantine, according to Hollywood Reporter.  The script will be written by David Goyer, who wrote Man of Steel and the last three Batman movies, and Dexter showrunner Daniel Cerone.

Constantine was adapted into a feature film in 2005, which did respectably (see "'Constantine' Tops DVD Sales Charts").
