The first full trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has arrived, in all its dark, action-packed glory.
Spider-Man starts the 2:41 trailer in free-fall, which is a good metaphor for the movie’s dark tone. "Every day I wake up knowing, that the more people I try to save, the more enemies I will make," Peter (Andrew Garfield) says sadly.
There’s a lot of action and exposition packed into the trailer; an armored Rhino flashes by at 0:18, Harry Osborn has his say at 1:32, and we catch some quick glances at this movie’s version of the Green Goblin, or at least Harry Osborn-on-a-glider at 1:30 and 1:50. The trailer climaxes with a great soliloquy from Jamie Foxx’s Electro beginning at 1:53--which leads to a blowout special effects battle.
If fans of the Webslinger found the posters exciting (see "New 'Spidey 2' Posters"), they will definitely enjoy this.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in theaters May 2, 2014.
