Humanoids Inc has announced its upcoming catalog for early 2014.  Alongside a limited and numbered edition of the Moebius classic Arzach designed specifically for North American audiences unable to procure this classic work long out-of-print in English language format, Humanoids has several titles that showcase its diversity within science fiction, action adventure, and surrealist genres.

All slated for a January 2014 release, the first title is Yann and Edith's Basil & Victoria: London Guttersnipes.  Set in late-nineteenth century, Victorian London, this is a humorous tale of two orphaned children who survive the horrors of the urban landscape and engage in adventures throughout the world with famous historical and literary figures.  The slightly oversized edition is a 240-page, color hardcover that retails for $39.95.

Next up is Eisner-nominated artist Nicolas de Crecy's debut work Foligatto.  Perhaps known to US readers from Humanoids' The Celestial Bibendum or NBM's Salvatore, de Crecy's first work finds him tackling the visuals of a story written by Alexios Tjojas.  The story of a tormented opera singer who returns to his hometown, Foligatto explores a series of catastrophic and life-changing events in true de Crecy fashion.  The oversized, color deluxe edition is 64 pages and retails for $24.95.

Collecting three separate volumes, Milan K. Part One: The Teenage Years by Sam Timel and Corentin tells the story of one of the world's wealthiest men who spent his life fighting oppression and poverty throughout the world.  Instead of simply throwing money at these social and political problems, however, the man who would become known as Milan K. engages in a singular, militant war with far-reaching repercussions.  The oversized deluxe edition is a 152-page, color hardcover and retails for $29.95.

Lastly is the latest installment in Humanoids' extensive science fiction catalog, Retroworld.  Written by Patrick Galliano with art by Bazal and Cedric Peyravernay, Retroworld is adapted from Julia Verlanger, the preeminent science fiction author of 1970s France and the name behind France's Prix Julia Verlanger prize.  As humans have spread throughout the universe, many inhabitants have forgotten their Earthly heritage and origins.  Those who remember have united as the "Formers" into the Galactic Federation.  Those who have abandoned the memories of the past are known as "Retros" and have descended into primitive, isolationist lifestyles.  Targeting the Retro planet Almagiel, the Federation's best agent is sent to help them evolve beyond this archaic existence.  The slightly oversized, color edition is 108 pages and retails for $29.95.
