The latest DBZ collectible card game release, The Trunks Saga, has sold out the first print run, and with demand still strong, Score is going back to press. The quick sellout of The Trunks Saga, which is the most popular DBZ release ever, indicates that the DBZ game is still picking up steam.
Dragonball Z is currently the top-rated cartoon on the Cartoon Network's Toonami block with ratings that beat MTV's for boys from 11-16 (see 'Toonami Ratings Soar'). DBZ has also remained either in first or second place on the Lycos Top 50 listing of the most popular search topics for the past three months. With over 100 new episodes of Dragonball Z and the original Dragonball series slated to run on the Cartoon Network in the next twelve months, DBZ appears to be a 'franchise' product with lots of 'legs' left (there were over 500 episodes of DBZ produced in Japan). The ratings for the DBZ cartoon have continued to grow over the past television season, with the quick sellout of The Trunks Saga, it appears that the DBZ CCG is gaining in momentum as well.
