Candice Patton has been cast as the female lead in CW’s pilot for The Flash, according to HR.

Patton, whose TV credits include the role of Olivia on Heroes, as well as a role on The Young and The Restless, will play Iris West, a grad student who is Barry’s best friend and daughter of Detective West (played by Jesse Martin--see "Geek Movie, TV Round-up").  The character is also listed as becoming an eventual love interest for Barry, which, if they stay true to comic cannon, should eventually lead to a wedding.  Grant Gustin has been cast in the title role (see "'Flash' Cast").
