Wizards of the Coast has announced details on the upcoming Quest for the Gauntlet set for its Kaijudo TCG, which will include Booster Packs, Evolution Swarm Master Challenge Decks, and Set Premiere Boxes. The set premieres on May 30.WotC’s Senior Kaijudo Brand Manager Kierin Chase updated ICv2 earlier this year with planned changes beginning with this block for both the booster pack card count and organized play back in January (see "Exclusive: 'Kaijudo' Expands Boosters, Play Formats").
The Kaijudo: Quest for the Gauntlet expansion contains 170 cards, optimized for Booster Draft play, and will include some alt-art reprints. There is no change in booster price, despite upping the card count from nine to 14, and there is no change in the frequency of Rare, Very Rare, and Super Rare card appearance in a pack. New mechanics will also be introduced in this set. Booster Packs will contain 14 cards, with an MSRP of $3.99. The boosters will be packed 36 to a case, with six displays per carton.
The Quest for the Gauntlet: Evolution Swarm Master Challenge Deck is tournament play-ready right out of the box. The deck will contain 40 cards, featuring three premium cards, a Quest for the Gauntlet Booster Pack, a playmat and quick-start guide for $11.99. Displays contain eight decks, and are packed six displays to a carton.
