There hasn’t been much news regarding Image Comics’ series Chew’s development for TV since last summer (see "'Chew' Back in TV Development"), but now, apparently Walking Dead actor Steven Yeun and Felicia Day have been signed as voice stars for an animated feature, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The news last August was that Jeff Krelitz wanted to adapt the darkly humorous comic hit as an animated series as a path to a live-action TV series.  Now it seems he has a script by Chew co-creator John Layman, has shifted the plan to an animated feature, and has his stars locked in.  Yeun will be voicing detective Tony Chu, and Day will voice Amelia Mintz, his love interest.

Yeun is best known as Glenn on The Walking Dead TV show, but he has some video game voice credits (Crysis, Crysis Warhead) on his resume as well.  Day, who is best known in the geek world as creator, writer, and star in The Guild, is part owner of the YouTube Channel Geek & Sundry, which hosts both The Guild and TableTop among other programs.  Day has done voice work for video games including Guild Wars 2, Dragon Age II, and Fallout: New Vegas.

Krelitz will produce with David Boxenbaum.  The film will be executive produced by Scott Boxenbaum, Layman, and his Chew co-creator, Rob Guillory.  Dan Tischler will co-executive produce.  The producers plan for a digital broadcast and home entertainment release.
