BOOM! Studios announced the limited series Lumberjanes has been promoted to an ongoing series, due to critical praise and fan response.
The series, which debuted in April and was planned for an eight-issue run, is written by Noelle Stevenson (Adventure Time, Nimona) and Grace Ellis, and co-created by BOOM! Studios editor Shannon Watters. Art is provided by Brooke Allen (A Home for Mr. Easter). The series is set at a summer camp, where five teenage girls fight supernatural monsters and solve mysteries in a mash-up of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Gravity Falls.
"Seeing the reaction to this series is exactly why we do what we do here at BOOM!," said Matt Gagnon, BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief. "There’s been an outpouring of love and support for Lumberjanes, and much of that has come from fans who are picking up a comic for the first time in a while, if not for the first time ever."
Lumberjanes #3 will arrive in June, with a main cover by series artist Noelle Stevenson, with an incentive cover available by Faith Erin Hicks (Friends With Boys).
