Before opening weekend movie seats have even cooled, larger retailers are ready to take preorders for the home video versions of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Actual contents and release date for the $124.99 MSRP set (currently discounted to $74.99 by Amazon) have not been revealed, but the "Amazon Exclusive" collectors set comes with a rather nifty statue of Magneto’s helmet.
Amazon was also soliciting for the stand-alone Blu-Ray, both the 3D version, which includes regular Blu-ray edition and Digital HD ($49.99); and standard, with digital HD ($39.99). The DVD release is priced at $29.98.
The Amazon.co.uk site also has an interesting exclusive, the X-Men: Cerebro Helmet Complete Collection Incl. Days of Future Past Blu-ray set, with a £99.99 price ($167.08 US), which includes all five X-Men and both Wolverine films. Plus a silver Cerebro helmet.
Not to be outdone in the preorder push, Best Buy prominently featured an ad for DVD/Blu-Ray preorder in its weekly circular, partnering with Fandango for an up to $8 movie money voucher to see the movie in theaters when purchasing the DVD or Blu-ray Disc from the Best Buy site.
At least they waited till the movie opened, unlike for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (see "Cool 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Blu-ray Package").
