Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o has been added to the cast of Star Wars:  Episode VII, along with Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.   

Nyong’o and Christie will join the previously announced new stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow, along with previous saga stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker (see "'Star Wars: Episode VII' Cast Announced"). 

Nyong’o won the best supporting actress Oscar for her role in 12 Years a Slave.  Christie is best known for her role as the androgynous Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones.

The film, which will have a budget in the neighborhood of $200 million (see "'Star Wars: Episode VII' Will Cost At Least $200 Million"), is shooting in Abu Dhabi and is set to open on December 18, 2015.
