Marvel has announced a special anthology which will span 75 years of history with all new tales.  The Marvel 75th Anniversary Celebration #1 will arrive in October.

Marvel Comics’ Executive Editor Tom Brevoort is bringing together living creators from multiple ages to craft new stories for the characters they originated or made famous, or in some cases, try new talent combinations.  Talent will include Stan Lee and Bruce Timm, Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, Len Wein and Paul Gulacy, James Robinson, Tom DeFalco, Stan Goldberg, and Scott Hanna among others.

Bruce Timm will adapt a new version of "Captain America Foils the Traitor’s Revenge," a text story originally published in Captain America Comics #3 (1941) which was Stan Lee’s first Marvel Comics work. James Robinson and Chris Samnee will collaborate on a Fantastic Four story, and Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos will do a new story featuring Jessica Jones.  Tom DeFalco joins Stan Goldberg and Scott Hanna for a classic Peter Parker tale, while Len Wein and Paul Gulacy tackle Wolverine.  Brian Michael Bendis will also team with a variety of Marvel artists for a series of covers for comics Marvel never published.

The 64-page anthology will also include a tribute to those writers and artist who have passed on.  "We’re planning on doing a piece or a section to remember those Marvel contributors who are no longer with us. It’s not all put together yet, so we’ll see how it works out," Brevoort said.
