Things are looking good for DC’s TV presence this week, with announcements for both Gotham and The Flash, ahead of the highly anticipated Constantine premiere (see "New 'Constantine' Featurette"). Veteran geek-TV actress Morena Baccarin will join the Gotham cast (see "Fox Opts for a Full Season of 'Gotham'"), and CW has announced a full season order for The Flash.
Baccarin most recently played Jessica Brody on Homeland, but is best known for her geek-TV roles as companion Inara Serra on Firefly, Adria on Stargate SG-1, and Anna on V. She’s also done Batman-related voice work on Batman: The Brave and the Bold (Cheetah) and Son of Batman (Talia al Ghul).
Baccarin will join the Gotham cast in the recurring role of Dr. Leslie Thompkins, with plans to become a regular in Season 2, according to Deadline. Dr. Thompkins is a physician hired at the newly opened Arkham Asylum’s Home for the Criminally Insane. A former friend of Bruce Wayne’s parents, the doctor also becomes friends with James Gordon.
CW’s The Flash has received a full-season order, Variety is reporting. Considering it posted the best premiere numbers for the CW in five years, the announcement of the 23-episode order is hardly a surprise (see "'The Flash' Posts Best CW Debut in 5 Years").
