With both Marvel (see "'Black Panther,' 'Captain Marvel,' 'Inhumans' Movies") and DC (see "Warners Announces 9 More DC Movies") announcing huge additions to their movie slates this month, and the normal flow of news since our last update, it seemed time to do a fall update to Best in Shows, our ongoing listing of geek films, arranged by quarter out to 2020. 

There was some trepidation in the blogosphere at the aggregate total of recent announcements of new films (not limited to Marvel/Disney and DC/Warner Bros.), but most of the expressions of concern ended with a continued belief in the ability of fans to absorb the number of films coming at them.  Certainly the elasticity of the demand is going to be tested.
