Ryan Reynolds is confirming that he has been cast for the Deadpool film, via a Tweet with the image reproduced here and the phrase, "Uh… It’s Chimichanga Time."  Reynolds has been rumored as the lead for as long as the movie has been in development, since 2009 (see "'Deadpool' Movie in Development"). 

The film was recently given a February 12, 2016 release date (see "'Deadpool' Movie Gets a Date").  It will be part of Fox’s version of a Marvel shared universe, managed by Simon Kinberg (see "'Deadpool' Film To Be Part of Shared Universe"). 

Deadpool will be directed by Tim Miller from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
