Writing on the PlayStation blog, Brian Michael Bendis announced today that Powers, the long-gestating adaptation of his police procedural comic book series about cops in a world where superpowered individuals exist, will debut on the PlayStation Network with the first three episodes of the series available on March 10 with a new episode set for release for seven subsequent weeks on Tuesday until the entire 10-episode first season has been made available (see "Superhero TV Round-Up" for a look at the first stills from the production, and a description of the show with its current cast).
The first episode will be free for all to view at PlayStation.com/Powers, but the rest of the episodes will be available (at least at first) only to those with PlayStation Plus memberships. In his blog post Bendis also pointed out that a "brand new double-size Powers number one" comic book, which provides a great point of entry into the Powers universe, goes on sale in comic shops this Wednesday, January 21st.
Bendis will appear on Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 20) to discuss the debut of the Powers series (and most likely show a clip from the new series).
