Marvel Comics has revealed two more comics book series, Captain America & The Mighty Avengers and Loki: Agent of Asgard will join Magneto in chronicling the Last Days of the Marvel universe as we know it (see "'Magneto' Gets 'Last Days' Series"). The Last Days comics brand features books that will cover the final desperate struggles of the Marvel characters as their world collapses due to the "intersection of universes," the cataclysmic event that brings about the events of the upcoming Secret Wars crossover event (see "Marvel Unveils 'Last Wars' Brand of 'Secret Wars' Comics").
Al Ewing, who writes both Captain America & The Mighty Avengers and Loki: Agent of Asgard, told ComicBook.com that his Avengers book will show the effects of the “end of the world” on both superheroes and casual citizens: "We'll be seeing both sides--the Last Days issues will be about people helping where they can at the end of the world. Some of those will be superbeings with awesome powers, and some are just people. If the current plan comes together, we'll be going from 'Time Runs Out' right up to the final seconds of life on Earth... as seen through the eyes of the most unexpected Mighty Avenger of all--you! The person reading this! That's going to be a wee bit tricky, mind."
Ewing would not reveal whether his protagonist for the Last Days Loki book will be, since, in the book’s current story arc, Loki and battling King Loki are battling for superiority, though it is the nasty King Loki who is on the cover of Loki, Agent of Asgard #14, the book that begins the series’ Last Days arc.
