Marvel has announced Secret Wars: Battleworld, a four-issue miniseries launching in May. The story is an ultimate crossover of sorts, a world in which the 1602 version of the Punisher can fight the 2099 version of Iron Man, or a fight can break out between a dozen different versions of Howard the Duck.
Each issue will include two stories. In the first issue, Spider-Man, Wolverine, the Hulk and Ghost Rider track down a Dr. Strange-possessed Punisher, and M.O.D.O.K. recruits every M.O.D.O.K. ever from across Battleworld.
Marvel has previously announced an Inhumans Battleworlds series (see "'Inhumans' 'Battleworld' Series") and Ultimate End, the Battleworlds series in which the Marvel Ultimate Universe ends (see "Marvel Plans 'Ultimate End'").
The series is writen by Josh Williamson and Ed Brisson, with art by Mike Henderson and Scott Hepburn. The cover is by Paco Medina, with variant cover by James Stokoe and action figure variant by John Tyler Christopher.
