Arcane Wonders will release Mage Wars Arena: Battlegrounds Domination, an expansion for Mage Wars: Arena, in late May or early June.

This new expansion introduces new puzzle-cut tile pieces to create a custom modular arena.  It also introduces Domination Mode, a new method of play that involves capturing "power orbs" to win the game instead of killing the other Mage-though that is still an option.  The release includes a scenario pack and official multiplayer rules.  There are new spell cards, some for Domination mode, some for regular play. The first print run includes 2 promo cards: "The Ankh of Asyra" (equipment) and "Blur" (Enchantment).

The box includes: 20 customized tiles, 116 cards, 9 orbs, 13 condition markers, 2 spiked pit traps, 2 secret passages, 1 taunt, 6 guard markers, 23 V’Tar tokens, 24 control markers, and a rulebook with Domination rules.  The game is for 2 players, ages 13 and up.  MSRP is $44.99.

Arcane Wonders is releasing  the new Mage Wars Arena core set soon, with the "arena" rebranding with the 4th edition printing to differentiate it from the new introductory Mage Wars Academy product  which will also be releasing soon (see "New 'Mage Wars' Core Set").
