In West Virginia

Gameboard Distribution and the Gameboard stores in Tennessee were not the only companies that released the D&D 3.5 books early (see 'Gameboard Breaks D&D 3.5 Street Date'). As evidenced by the receipt accompanying this article, Books-a-Million, a regional chain that's the third largest book retailer in the U.S., also released the books early. An alert West Virginia retailer sent us this receipt showing all three books sold by the Morgantown, West Virginia BAM store. Since Wizards of the Coast does not ask book retailers to observe street dates on RPGs, but times shipments to chains to hit near the time of the release date (see 'WotC Reviewing Distribution Policy'), the early release by BAM is due to the arrival date of the books at the chain, not to a flouting of the street date.
