Greater Than Games will add yet another gaming genre to its growing stable of "Sentinel Comics Games" world. This time, working in conjunction with Critical-Hits Studios, GTG is producing The Sentinel Comics Role-Playing Game, which is scheduled to release in 2016.
The Sentinel Comics Role-Playing Game will allow players to assume the role of existing characters from the setting or create their own heroes to defend the "Multiverse." Few details have been revealed, but the game system will be based around dice pools combined with character traits and abilities in an attempt to recreate the traditional feel of comic books.
Critical-Hits Studios design team for the project includes Cam Banks, Dave Chalker, and Philippe-Antoine Menard, who all have experience developing the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game. All three designers will be attending Gen Con this year to run demos of the new game system, which is still in development. Greater Than Games plans to finance the project through a Kickstarter program, launching in early 2016.
The extensive “Sentinel Comics” world forms the background for the original Sentinels of the Multiverse cooperative card game as well as the Sentinel Tactics miniatures game. In January, Greater Than Games announced new expansions for both existing titles (see "Three 'Sentinel Comics' World Game Expansions").
