The first original graphic novel tied to Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe (created by Rebecca Sugar) will bring together the show’s Supervising Director Ian Jones-Quarterly, regular comic series writer Jeremy Sorese, and artist Coleman Engle as the creative team, publisher BOOM! Studios announced Thursday.  It is planned for release in December, with a cover by Rosemary Valero-O’Connell. 

Steven Universe:  Too Cool for School will feature Steve, Connie, and the Gems in the story of what happens when Steven joins Connie at school.

The first BOOM! comic series launched in August of last year (see “BOOM! Gets CN First Look”), and the first collection will be released in July (see “First ‘Steven Universe’ Collection”).
