Fantasy Flight Games will release a new Ally Pack and a new Villain Pack for the Star Wars:  Imperial Assault board game.  The Alliance Smuggler Ally Pack and the Bantha Rider Villain Pack will both release in the fourth quarter.  Both packs introduce new characters to the game.

The Alliance Smuggler Ally Pack includes a single character figure, game cards, two new skirmish missions, and a new campaign side mission that pits Rebels and Imperials in a race to recover valuable supplies from a downed smuggler ship.  The Alliance Smuggler is an ally with abilities that can boost other Smuggler characters while evading enemy forces.  MSRP is $9.95.

The fearsome Tuskan Raiders of Tatooine are the focus of the Bantha Rider Villain Pack.  This expansion includes a large model of a Tusken Raider on the back of a wooly horned Bantha. Six new command cards enhance the abilities of Tuskan Raider characters, while Tuskan Treachery, a three-card Agenda, can introduce the Bantha Rider to a campaign by challenging the Rebels to rescue captives of the “sand people.”  MSRP is $19.95.

The new expansions will follow the third wave of models for the game, releasing in Q3 (see “Wookies, Stormtroopers, Mercenaries Join The Fight”).
