Comic-Con News: AMC premiered the Season 6 trailer for The Walking Dead today, and announced the premiere date of October 11.

The epic four-minute trailer showcases a horde of new, decomposing zombie types, as well as a lot of human tension. The core group of characters is at a point where they aren’t willing to blindly follow Rick anymore.  It also looks like fan-favorite Daryl Dixon will be getting more screen time this season.

Season 6 will include 16 episodes, which, like previous seasons, will air in two parts. The first eight episodes will kick off with a 90 minute premiere, and the final eight episodes will begin airing in February 2016.

At the AMC Comic-Con Panel, the network also announced that the Talking Dead companion series, hosted by Chris Hardwick, will give fans an early look at what to expect from the upcoming season with a Talking Dead: Season 6 Preview Special which will premiere Sunday August 23.
