The new 3:19 trailer for the Starz Ash vs. the Evil Dead TV series is full of the same inventive mayhem (with chainsaw, shotgun, & a broken bottle), non-stop action, and black humor that made the Evil Dead films so enjoyable.  Bruce Campbell has some fun with his aging character; you never know if he is fumbling for his false teeth or reaching to grab his trusty shotgun out of the air to battle the plethora of demons, killer toys, and Deadites that will infest the TV series.  

Watching this trailer it becomes abundantly clear that there can be no worthwhile Evil Dead project without Campbell, who has the perfect feel for the franchise’s tongue-in-cheek humor.  This ten-episode half-hour series (see “Evil Dead Series on Starz”), which will debut on Halloween, October 31st at 9pm (ET,PT), certainly looks like it has “the goods” to please fans of the four Evil Dead films.

Starring in Ash vs. Evil Dead along with Campbell are Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, Dana Delorenzo, and Jill Marie Jones.  Sam Raimi, who directed the first 3 Evil Dead films, returns to helm the first episode of the new Starz cable series, which is being produced by Rob Tapert, who also produced the original films.
