Alan’s Adventureland was designed by Alan D. Ernstein, the creator of 2010’s Inca Empire.  In this new boardgame, the players are the operators of an amusement park, and each wants to attract the most guests to their area of the park.  The game is for 3 - 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 - 90 minutes.  MSRP is $49.95.

Three of the games were acquired as part of previous Rio Grande Design Contests (see “‘Quilt Show’”):

In Dave Mansell’s For Crown & Kingdom, various barons pursue heroic quests throughout the kingdom, hoping to earn fame, glory, and ultimately the crown once the sickly old king passes away.  This game is for 2 - 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 30 - 60 minutes.  MSRP is $39.95.

Set in the early days of passenger airlines, Tin Goose challenges players to build their own airline company, buying planes and building flight networks while dealing with disruptive events. This game by Matt Calkins is for 3 - 5 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about 90 minutes.  MSRP is $44.95.

Rio Grande will also release a new expansion for the Roll for the Galaxy dice game, Roll for the Galaxy: Ambition.  The expansion adds new factions, home worlds, optional objectives, and two new types of dice to the core game.  The expansion supports 2 - 5 players.  MSRP is $34.95.  Roll for the Galaxy is the dice-based version of the popular Race for the Galaxy card game, released in 2013 (see “Two New ‘Race for the Galaxy’ Games”).

Next up is a reprint of a Rio Grande classic.  TransEuropa was originally released in 2005, and places players in the “conductor’s seat,” building railroad networks across Europe.  Players race to connect their five cities faster than the other players.  For 2 - 6 players, ages 8 and up.  MSRP is $32.95.
