As ICv2 reported (see 'Ash to Ashes') Pojo's Pokemon magazine will soon cease monthly publication.  Although sources had earlier told ICv2 that the April issue would be the last, the May issue is currently on newsstands, and the June issue, which will be on the stands in early May, will be the last regular monthly issue.  Publisher H&S Media has recently produced stand-alone issues for Dragonball Z and for Magic: the Gathering, so a Pokemon one-shot remains a possibility.

The website that started it all -- Pojo.com -- will continue its operations as before.  So far no word about any new sponsors for the website, but Editor in Chief and site originator Bill Gill has assured ICv2 that the site will continue.

As for the overall interest in Pokemon, the key indicator this week was the steep drop-off from week 1 to week 2 for the Pokemon 3 film.  The box office take dropped a dramatic 67% from its opening weekend to $2.7 million for its second week.  The ten-day cumulative total of $13 million is respectable, but nothing like the land office business that the first two films did in their opening weekends.
