Yesterday Brian Michael Bendis hinted that, since Invincible Iron Man is off to such a great start (with advance orders reportedly over 200K), he might want to write a second ongoing Iron Man series (see “Bendis Teases Second Iron Man Title”).

Today on Comic Book Resources, Marvel EIC Axel Alonso confirmed that Bendis would be doing a second Iron Man title, though he declined to say what the title or the focus of the new Shellhead series would be, though he did indicate that the final pages of the October-shipping Invincible Iron Man #1 would provide some clues to Bendis’ plan.  Alonso did indicate that the idea for a second series has been around from the beginning, stating “When Brian pitched us, he said there was an idea for a sister title.”
